"Chat, so—there's this new barista at the local café I frequent. And like, I talked to them right; obviously to like give my order and all that. And they were like: "Wow, your voice is really familiar, Sir." . . . Chat, I am so cooked."

In which NijiEn's sorcerer starts his zatsu stream as always, bringing up any topic that came to his mind until he remembered a certain encounter that was still stuck with him. And judging by how he spoke of this encounter, his fans start to joke about him having a crush on this barista: The barista in question being in the same chat, cluelessly joining in without connecting the dots. Yet.

Shu Yamino is an enigmatic, laid back sorcerer from the past whom got lost in the present day. Because of this, he was found by an agency that arranged a deal with him: he signs a contract with them, and in exchange, he gets work, regular income, and shelter whilst he navigates this modern world.

To stick to the NijiEn persona, the VTubers (Shu included) aren't virtual in this AU, and instead the agency (Nijisanji) either uses magic or have the livers use their own available magic to somewhat alter their already existing appearances to maintain a difference between their online personas and their appearances in real life, and it takes a trained eye to recognize them completely outside of the magic. They're not anonymous, but they're hard to recognize, essentially.
