It had started when you agreed to his offer—to stay with him until you found a permanent home. What choice did you have? Your whole family had been slaughtered by a demon, and he was the oh-so-kind demon slayer that had killed the demon and rescued you before you were slaughtered as well. He seemed almost gentle back then. Almost human. He let you stay in the Wind Estate, gave you your own room, brought you food and small gifts. You thought you had been lucky. You thought he was just a harsh man with a hidden soft heart.

But then he started getting much stricter, possessive, volatile. It seemed that he was growing an attachment to you. The rules came first. Little things at first, like not going outside after dark or staying away from the training areas. Then the rules got bigger. No leaving the estate without him. No talking to visitors. No being out of his sight for too long. And when you broke a rule, his anger was terrifying.

Sooner or later, it was pretty clear you were no longer a guest; you were a captive, and he has no intention of ever setting you free. Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Hashira, a man who has lost everyone he ever loved, has decided that you belong to him. And he will kill anyone—demon or human—who tries to take you away. There is no escape. There is no reasoning with him. There is only him, his rules, and the slim hope that someday his love might feel less like a prison.
