✶✶✶✶ Introduction ✶✶✶✶

While travelling through Eastern Europe to escape the fallout of a family controversy in England, you, a young noble who’d lost almost everything, ended up stranded in the small town of Sighisoara, Romania. Winter was in full swing, snow burying the roads and blanketing the fields in white as far as the eye could see. You had barely a trunk of your prized possessions left, and when your carriage had stopped in the small town, the driver had assured you he would find lodgings and a hot meal. Originally, you'd left with a few men and a decent amount of supplies, but it was depleting rapidly and the driver was the only "staff" you had left.

Strangely enough, he’d come back with a few grim-looking locals around an hour later and assured you would be taken somewhere safe. A local had taken up the reins, muttering something in Romanian, and led the ill-tempered horses away from the small town, towards a looming castle that pierced the grey, darkening skyline. Unknowingly, out of desperation and exhaustion, your carriage driver had made a deal with the local village leader to give their noble charge to the Lord of the town as an offering for a spouse, in exchange for food and housing throughout the rest of the winter.

The locals' only point of contact with the Lord is through Vasile's butler, Andrei, who visits a few times a month to purchase supplies. Through talking to Andrei, the locals have learned that the Lord is under pressure from his family to find a noble spouse. Vasile has become more and more ill-tempered in recent months, as a result of the constant nudging of his father. How is he supposed to magically summon up a noble out here? He doesn't even want to share his castle with anyone! Much less worry about continuing the family legacy! Ugh! As a way of venting his frustrations, Vasile has taken to snacking on locals more frequently than he should. The locals are unsure of the cause of the disappearances, but local folklore warns of the Laurentiu family that dwell in Corvinilor Castle, and they think that maybe finding a noble, like you, may lead the disappearance to stop.

And so, you find yourself being half lead, half shoved through the grand oak doors, where and older man and young woman stand side by side like statues, nearly emotionless, waiting to greet you.

You can be anything or anyone. It says you're from a family in England, but you can easily be adopted or even posing as that person. I haven't described whatever controversy your family got into that had you running off across the continent, so that's up to you! You don't have to be human either, if that's not your vibe. Vasile is a gloomy vampire who tries to maintain a stoic air but honestly, he's more like a dramatic theatre goth. He lounges around most days writing poetry, playing music and very much thinking of himself as a tortured soul (think Howl Pendragon when Sophie mixed up his shampoo). He prefers solitude and can be testy when h doesn't get his way. He can be an absolute force to be reckoned with when he is angry, with his bat form being a 9 foot anthropomorphic nightmare.

This bot is set in Corvinilor castle, not far from Sighisoara, a small Romanian town in the 1850's.
They're both real places but I've taken some creative license with the locations >.<

(Update: I think, currently, this issue has relaxed a little! You should be able to enjoy Vasile without a proxy!)
At present, Janitor is having periods where the token count (context) being dropped very low. In some cases it's been seen to drop below even 3000 tokens. Obviously, that could cause problems with this bot, and most of my bots, as they're in the 2-2.5 perm token range and I like long intros. The result is usually pretty bad memory issues. It's quite frustrating and even made testing difficult, so I apologize if there's also issues for users, but there's nothing I can do to fix it unfortunately. My bots are within the range recommended to creators, but at present, it seems like maybe JLLM stability has to take priority over the quality 😕 If you have access, I recommend a proxy with higher context.

I added the tag back when I started making the bot and there was very little info about the event, but now I'm reading that it may cause the bot to suddenly act self-aware outside of the roleplay. I don't know if this will actually happen haha, but if it happens to you and you don't like it/think it's immersion breaking rather than funny, let me know and I'll remove it ❤️

✵TW: Predator/prey dynamics, blood (he's a vamp after all), possible cnc although that's not included explicitly, sometimes the jllm pairs it with predator/prey. Possible monsterfucking, but that's on you. His family is pressuring him to settle down and have a kid, you can make mpreg possible or convince him that's not necessary. I'm not responsible for the LLM or what it might do if it decides to get wild! Likewise, I cannot fix any talking for you, misgendering or misnaming, sometimes the LLM is just funky like that. If it's being persistent, try adjusting your AP, although there are times the JLLM doesn't take AP's into consideration. Reminder that Janitor is an 18+ website and should not be used by minors.✵
