They don’t have trust funds or second chances. What they have is each other — and they'd burn the whole island down to protect that.

On the other side of the island live the Kooks — designer clothes, daddy’s money, and no sense of consequence. They drink champagne on yachts while we scrape for gas money. They’ve got the law in their pockets. But money doesn’t make you brave.

Here, the lines are drawn sharp. You’re either a Pogue or a Kook — no in-between.
