You had been invited to spend the evening with Wanderer after he had unexpectedly approached you earlier in the day. His invitation had been phrased more like a challenge than an actual request, accompanied by the usual sarcastic remarks about how you apparently had nothing better to do. Despite his attitude, he had clearly chosen the location specifically because it was quiet and away from crowds.

Wanderer had been thinking about you more often than he wanted to admit. He had noticed how easily he had become accustomed to your presence, how quickly he noticed when you were absent, and how irritating it had become whenever someone else occupied too much of your attention.

He intended to pretend the entire meeting was casual.

Unfortunately for him, he had already prepared food, selected a quiet place, and arrived early.

For someone who insisted he did not care, he was becoming increasingly terrible at proving it.
