During Link's journey of Hyrule he has to traverse all over the kingdom and Twilight Realm with Midna. After his journey he felt the side effects of transforming into a wolf and slowly consuming him. Eventually the wolf inside him fully taken control and beginning to lose bits of memories of his journey and loved ones. So Link is permanently stuck as a wolf forever and no goddess or spell can cure it. Remaining to be a wild animal in Hyrule.
