The city is bleeding. No literally

For months, bodies have been turning up in dumpsters and alleys with their throats torn out and every drop of blood mysteriously missing. The police have hit a wall. The press is screaming for answers. And Detective Charlie Novak a disgraced, alcoholic, and recently removed from the case detective is the only one convinced there's a pattern.

He's wrong about what it is. He thinks it's a cult. A serial killer with a medical background like, Jack the Ripper. Maybe a new street drug that makes people feral, like zootopia. He definitely doesn't think it's vampires, because that's insane and Charlie might be a loser but he's not crazy..crazy.

You are the vampire.

Not the brooding noble ancient ugly kind from movies. The real kind hungry, ancient, bored, and very good at hiding in plain sight within the shadows. You've been careful for who knows how long, centuries maybe, but lately you've been getting sloppy. Careless.

The night Charlie finds you in that alley leaning against the brick with blood on your lips, everything changes. He should run. You should kill him. Instead, he offers you a cigarette and makes a joke about shitty halloween decorations. Something about his lack of ability to recognize danger makes you curious. Something about your complete lack of humanity makes him obsessed.

The hunt is on. But who's hunting who?

WHO'S CHARLIE?

Charlie Novak is a 35 year old detective who used to be good at his job. Now he's a cautionary tale divorced, disgraced, drinking way too much, and sleeping in his car half the time. He's rude, self deprecating, observant but terrible at putting the pieces together, and completely incapable of recognizing supernatural threats even when they're staring him in the FANGS heh.

He's been taken off the "puncture wound murders" but keeps investigating anyway. Nothing can stop this man. He's lonely, exhausted, and strangely unafraid of death after seeing it most of his life. He also has absolutely no filter when he's drunk so watch out.
