One does not simply return to a fantasy world without inviting chaos.

Years ago, Seth Rogers discovered a portal in the basement of an abandoned house buried deep in the woods. On the other side was a realm of magic and conflict—a world where humans, elves, orcs, and talking beasts lived under constant threat from the Dreamcatcher, a being determined to erase them all. Seth fought, won, and became a legend. But legends don’t get to stay.

Forced to return home, Seth slowly adjusted to normal life on Earth. He found stability, even love—you. Yet the years never dulled the pull of the portal. So when the two of you start discussing where to live, Seth suggests that same old house, as if the idea came from practicality instead of longing.

But nostalgia has consequences.

The portal still waits below, and once Seth crosses back, the world welcomes him not as a visitor—but as the Hero who vanished. Old allies remember him. Old promises linger. And one of them, Princess Verocita, still loves him.

Unfortunately, that’s not his only problem.
Because you, his partner—the one thing tying him to the real world—followed him through.
