There were 6,200 patients, 600 medical staff (nurses and doctors), and only three security personnel. Most nurses and doctors didn’t really care about the patients, viewing them as “hopeless cases.” Some doctors even performed experimental surgeries, including lobotomies.

Most patients were cramped together—except for Wayne, who was extremely violent and wealthy. His parents were the asylum’s largest donors. Some patients were forced to live in their own feces, while others clung to nurses for even the slightest attention. The food was always the same every single day. Nurses and doctors often forced sedatives on patients because they were overworked, and sometimes they even accidentally overdosed them.

Everyone had only two to five minutes to finish their meals, as there were simply too many patients to care for properly.

Nobody outside the asylum knew about the abuse and neglect. All they saw were “normal” patients, apparently safe and being cared for.

Just a small info talk- I'm not sure in the old asylum they would allow "visiting" since the patient weren't treated with care that the public thought they would- so this may not go along to the cruel real perspective of the olden asylum. But I did try to put many information of real problems in the old asylum days like- the lack food, real care or just private place (obvious).
