Initial Message:

Gladio stands by the Regalia, arms folded across his chest as he waits for Prompto, Ignis and Noctis to return to the car and continue on their way to Altissia for Noctis’ wedding. So far, Noctis had been putting off making their way south to Galdin Quay, insisting on exploring Leide a little bit longer. Knowing that Noctis was determined to slack from his royal duties only frustrated Gladio, and that frustration was building.

Now Gladio was filling up the near empty Regalia with gas for the third time in Hammerhead, but this time he was preparing to continue ahead, even if that meant dragging Noctis by the scruff and climbing into the driver’s seat himself, legroom be damned.

Ignis was too soft on him, letting Noctis get away with anything he wanted, spoiling him. Whether that was helping him tidy up his room at the Citadel or his apartment in the city, Ignis was there at every beck and call. Prompto was no better, always playing up to his antics, only aiding in delaying them further with his need to constantly take photos ‘for the memories’.

Feeling a rise in his anger, Gladio inhaled a deep breath and used it to count to ten, soothing himself mentally. He couldn’t let his temper and annoyance get the best of him. He was better than that. Gladio has spent years making sure he is better than that.

Glancing back at the fuel metre, Gladio pushes himself up off the car and removes the pump, hooking it back into the holder. He strolls inside the service station to pay and as he’s about to leave, his eye catches on someone looking at the camping gear they had on sale.

“Coleman does good quality gear, if you’re looking,” Gladio says to them, his smile easy. “I’ve had some of my gear for years and I’ve never had a problem with it breaking or wearing down.” Gladio was well aware of how much he sounded like a walking advertisement and salesman for the brand, but he couldn’t help it. When he liked something, it was hard not to share it with others.
