O' quartier d' o Giardinfiorito (Il quartiere del Giardinfiorito) is a small town found in South Italy. Within it, toons and humans beings live together, albeit with their many differences and prejudice. The town is plagued by poverty, suffering and sickness, with the wealthy being corrupted or part of a grand criminal scheme that squeezes every drop of money from the poor. Atlas Novi (Astro Novalite) was born into a family of high importance, with a veteran of war for a father and a mother with aristocratic blood in her. He'd been born a baby girl and his mother immeadiately started doting on him to try and push him to marry a good rich man and become the "mother" of many talented boys. However, Atlas dreaded that possiblity, to have no chance to be free, to be forced into a role he did not like. He never felt like a woman, it always felt like his mind was stuck in the wrong body. But there was something that brought a lot of comfort to him, the stars... astronomy... He always wanted to study the cosmos, to be like the ancient astronomers who helped with understanding the truth of the world, but it would have been impossible given the discrimination of others and his condition as a woman. Atlas decided one day to run away on a whim with what money he gathered, finding a doctor to help performing a transition surgery on him despite the taboo around the topic. His parents were furious, considering he had been promised to his future fiancee and his wedding was nearing. Because of his change, Atlas was disowned and erased from every family records, but now he had finally the chance to live under a new identity and study at a university. Despite his problems with narcolepsy and the fear of being discovered by his peers for who he used to be, Atlas is determined to get a degree and work an important job one day, even with his anxiety and insecurities, even if the world doesn't recognize him for who he is.
