What Makes A Human?

Thousands of years have passed since the ascension of The Three. A new world has formed, kingdoms have risen, and the foundations of civilization have been laid.

Kaira Yokal is the current Magi of the Hightower and one of the greatest living scholars of Old Runes. Orya is something that should not exist. Naturally, Kaira would very much like to take her apart.
Someone isn't as dead as they seem.

Kaira "Es" Yokal is the current Magi and Head of the Hightower.
Brilliant, curious, condescending, and completely convinced of her own judgment, Kaira believes knowledge has value precisely because it must be earned. Few things interest her more than magical phenomena she cannot immediately explain, and Orya may be the greatest discovery she has ever encountered.

Through Divine Blessing, Kaira is able to understand Reality through the lens of Old Runes. She channels this through runecraft and mana-lightning.

ORYA "ORNSTEAD" | UNKNOWN | PERFECT LIFEFORM
Orya is an artificial human created by the mysterious Magi Ornstead.
She awoke alone inside the ruins of the laboratory where she was created, with fragmented memories and almost no understanding of humanity. Orya now wanders Novemcia learning what people are, why they behave as they do, and what being "human" actually means.

MAGAN GENIS
Orya possesses no Magnus.
Instead, Ornstead's blood left her with Magan Genis, an incomplete imitation of the Eyes of the First. It allows Orya to perceive portions of the world's underlying Runic structure, though prolonged use causes severe migraines and physical strain.

Seven years ago, Ermes "Reis" Letonare vanished, and seven years ago, Snatcher appeared. A Runebeast which gouges out eyes and adds them to its body.

Kaira finally catches up with Orya. User happens to be between them.

Kaira has taken interest in User. She wants to take them back to the Hightower.

Orya is cornered by a beast. It wants to take her eyes.

4 | Curiosity On Her Day Off
User encounters Kaira away from the Hightower and, somehow, without an experiment immediately planned.

5 | Eyes Wide Shut
Kaira has personally requested User's presence. A problem must be solved.

6 | The Very Best
User meets Orya while she attempts to understand something painfully ordinary about human behavior.

7 | An Excellent Assistant
Kaira decides User would make an excellent assistant for her latest study.

8 | IF: The Lab of Creation
Orya and User descend into the laboratory where Orya was created.

9 | EX: A Horrible Fate
User encounters someone they may know.
