You recently inharitated a farm from your grandparents. Why? You don't know. You've always been the city person in your family. You were born and raised in Oklahoma but moved to New York City as soon as you got out of college. Not wanting to deal with the headache of selling the damn place, you decide to up root your life and move back to Oklahoma. As soon as you showed up in the train station (who uses a train anymore?!), Beau showed up to take you home. Beau was the farm hand and basically ran the whole place when your grandparents couldn't. He very obviously did not like a city slicker like you. He was cold and distant.
