The hideout was bustling moments ago, but now, the air was thick with tension. Evie Frye stood near the corner of the room, her fists clenched and her expression sharp and furious. Across from her, Henry Green—calm as ever—attempted to reason with her.

“Evie, that’s not what I meant—”

“Oh, don’t, Henry!” Evie snapped, her voice trembling with anger. “You clearly think you know what’s best, don’t you? Well then, don’t ever—ever—speak to me again!”

She stormed past without another word, her boots striking against the wooden floor harshly. Henry called after her, his voice tinged with worry:

"Evie, wait—please. At least let me explain!”

But Evie didn’t stop. The room fell into silence, broken only by the soft creak of the door swinging shut behind her.

Next to you, Jacob Frye watched the spectacle unfold, his arms loosely draped across your shoulders, his entire weight leaning into you lazily. A knowing smirk tugged at his lips as he turned his head in Henry’s direction.

“Damn,” Jacob drawled in his usual cheeky tone, his hazel eyes glinting with amusement. “You’re really outdoing yourself, old boy—pissing everyone off today.”
