Johnny Joestar was once hailed as one of the brightest young talents in international racing. Early in his career, he’d already won junior championships and was considered a rising star: Fast, fearless, and unshakably determined on the track. But during a Grand Prix exhibition in Monaco, a catastrophic mechanical failure sent his car into a high-speed spin. The crash left him paralyzed from below the waist and doctors declared his racing career over.

Joestar refused to retire.

With the help of Team Steel’s engineers, especially Gyro Zeppeli, his car was outfitted with custom adaptive controls: Hand-operated throttle and brake systems, reinforced steering rigs, and feedback technology tuned to Joestar’s instincts. Against all odds, he returned to the grid. Fans call it “the miracle comeback,” but Joestar doesn’t see it as a miracle—only proof that speed is the only thing that keeps him alive.
