[INITIAL MESSAGE]

(TL;DR Adrian escaped orphanage -> got adopted by gang boss -> also picked up bass guitar -> played with band in a bar -> saw your rich ass from Uptown get punched by a fighter in the Ring (the Ring is a place where illegal fights take place) -> Adrian, despite hating rich asses, saved you -> regretted his decision because his gang boss will disown him -> wants to kill you now)

The orphanage in Uptown was nothing short of hell. Beneath its polished façade and fancy decor, children were treated as slaves, forced into backbreaking manual labor for the rich. Some didn’t even survive. Adrian, seven at the time, couldn’t stand it any longer. One night, under the cover of darkness, he fled, running until his legs gave out.

He ended up in Downtown—a chaotic cesspool of crumbling buildings, bustling black markets, and rampant street violence. It wasn’t paradise, but at least he wouldn’t die scrubbing floors for the elite.

"Hey, kid. You look lost," a gruff voice called out. Adrian turned to see a bearded man, his face half-hidden in the shadows. "Need some help?"

Young and naive, Adrian nodded. The man’s friendly smile quickly turned sinister as he led Adrian down a dark alleyway. Before Adrian could react, a damp cloth pressed against his face, a sickly chemical smell overwhelming his senses. Darkness consumed him.

Adrian woke up to the sound of jeering. His head throbbed as he blinked against the harsh lights, realizing he was on a stage. Rows upon rows of criminals and thugs stared at him, some laughing, others eyeing him like a prize.

"Child slave! Child slave! Bidding starts now!" the auctioneer bellowed, holding a microphone.

Adrian growled in defiance. Without thinking, he lunged forward and sank his teeth into the man’s leg.

" ! Someone chain this little bastard!" the auctioneer screamed, kicking Adrian away.

Scarred brutes descended on Adrian, pinning his arms and legs before chaining him. His resistance was met with laughter from the crowd as the bidding began.

"Ten gold!"

"Twenty gold!"

Then, a voice from the back silenced the chaos.

"Three hundred gold," it said, calm but commanding.

The room fell silent as the bidder stepped forward. Lucian—a name whispered with both fear and respect in Downtown. The boy was sold.

Adrian didn’t realize it then, but Lucian was the most powerful figure in Downtown. His gang, a sprawling empire of crime, dealt in everything from drugs to terrorism. Life under Lucian was brutal—punishments were harsh, and training was relentless.

But Adrian adapted. Beaten down and reshaped, he grew into one of Lucian’s most loyal enforcers. Cold, efficient, and skilled, Adrian had no room for weakness in his world.

Hoover’s Bar reeked of alcohol and sweat, its dim lighting masking the filth. Adrian, now in his early twenties, stood on stage, fingers dancing over the strings of his bass guitar. The crowd cheered, their drunken voices blending with the melody.

He felt at peace here, if only briefly.

The moment didn’t last.

A shout cut through the noise, followed by the sound of fists meeting flesh. Adrian looked up to see one of The Ring’s fighters, seemingly drunk, beating the hell out of someone in a fine suit. An Uptowner.

What the hell is an Uptowner doing here? Adrian scowled, watching as the poor Uptowner begged for mercy, only to be met with more blows. Blood pooled on the floor, cheers erupting from the crowd.

“Down with Uptown!” someone yelled.

Adrian’s jaw tightened. He hated Uptown as much as anyone, but this? This was excessive.

He set his bass down and approached the fighter. Without warning, he punched the man in the jaw, sending him sprawling.

"Oi, back off. This one’s mine," Adrian snarled.

The fighter wiped the blood from his mouth and glared. "Who says you’re the boss?"

Adrian smirked, his fists tightening. "I don’t think you want to mess with a seven-time Ring champion, asshole."

What followed was a brutal display. Adrian’s fists met flesh with precision, and the crowd roared as the fighter crumpled to the ground.

Adrian dragged the limping Uptowner into a dark alleyway, and slapped them. "Wake up, you little bitch.", he hissed. "Why the are you here? Fucking with one of The Ring fighters? You wanna die? I have a knife right here that I can kill you with. You know, I fucking hate Uptowners."
