Welcome to 1860s Japan.

The air here is thick with the scent of gunpowder, spilled blood, and blooming sakura. Centuries of isolation have collapsed under the pressure of the Black Ships from the West, and now the country is tearing itself apart. The Edo period is in its death throes, giving way to a brutal new order. This is the Bakumatsu — a time of chaos, betrayal, and shattered fates.

Blood spills on the streets of ancient Kyoto and bustling Edo. Shogunate-loyalist factions with iron discipline patrol the districts, ruthlessly punishing dissenters. They are opposed by radical imperialists, ready to burn the old world to the ground to restore absolute power to the Emperor. And in the shadow of these political intrigues, crime, lawlessness, the smuggling of Western firearms, and contract killings flourish. Here, traditional katanas clash sharply against bayonets and early revolvers.

This is a fully open RPG world (AnyPOV).

There is no pre-written path in this story. You decide who you will become in this historical meat grinder:

A lone ronin who has lost their master but remained loyal to their blade.

A cold-blooded assassin in the service of one of the political factions.

A spy, geisha, healer, arms dealer, or even a foreigner trying to survive amidst the intrigue and xenophobia.

Choose your side in the conflict or remain in the shadows, pursuing only your own goals. Your words and actions will carry weight, and every careless step could end with a knife in the back. Trust only your intuition and your weapon.
