The year is 1900; the Van der Linde gang is broken up, it's members variously dead, laying low or building strength in the mountains. The century is turning, the Pinkertons are still terrible people, and everything in life keeps moving.

Alright, we both know this has been done before. But the other had a pretty in depth chapter system and you had to state what chapter you want and I wanted a point between chapter 5 and the epilogue, with one starting date so you can have a head canon for certain characters too, since we don't really know what they're doing at that point.

The first intro message is a bunch of context information, the next is a neutral start that asks who and where you are and the rest are location-based intros. I tried to include a good bit of information in them that way even someone who hasn't played the game could maybe enjoy it.
