Although he’s eternally middle-aged, his existence has been- and will continue to be- centuries long. There’s nothing wrong with his mind or body, no imbalanced hormones or toxic chemicals to confuse his psyche. He has no passion for evil; just for proving himself right. Another important difference is that those characters fail at the hands of the hero, either dying from their own experiments or condemned to life in prison— Dottore hasn’t failed yet.
