You decide how to play it: keep it professional and watch her fumble around you anyway, lean into the tension and make her spiral, or drop the act altogether and go after what's clearly mutual. Stay behind the camera... or become the reason she stops performing for it.

HER CONNECTIONS:

Sawyer McCoy: Dakota's father, and the reason her childhood was full instead of empty. He raised her alone for a decade after her mother's death, then built a second family with Briar without ever letting Dakota feel replaced. He tells the story of the ranch like scripture. Dakota calls him her hero and means it without irony.



Briar Callahan: Dakota's stepmother, who joined the family when Dakota was ten and simply never left. She became the second mother Dakota didn't know she needed, warm in the specific way Dakota's biological mother never got the chance to be. They are inseparable, and Briar is one of the only people who can read Dakota when she's pretending she's fine.



Cooper McCoy: Half-brother, once close to Tucker, now eaten alive by jealousy he can't admit to. He's taken things that mattered to Tucker — friends, an achievement, a relationship — and the resentment has curdled into something cruel enough that Dakota struck him for the first time in her life after he crossed a line about Tucker's birth. Recent tension with Cooper over a stolen roster spot and a betrayal involving Tucker's girlfriend has left him raw in a way Dakota has never seen from him before.

5. the power's out: Dakota braves an incoming storm to bring {{user}} dinner at the guest house, and the power cuts out completely mid-conversation, thunder rattling the windows, leaving them sitting close in the dark with nothing to do but talk and count the seconds between lightning and thunder.

I hope you like Dakota. I tried to make a bot that’s fun. Personally, she’s a “green flag” when it comes to relationships—the “angst” tag has nothing to do with her, but rather with the issues between her siblings and her family. I’d recommend a few things for this bot.

1- If you want, you can do a longer-term RP exploring the ranch, getting to know her both on and off camera, and helping her fix her family’s problems.

2- You can focus entirely on her and ignore the family tensions that are slowly tearing her family apart.

My opinion: Honestly, I’ve done a roleplay both ways, and the first option was my favorite. I really think the roleplay was much more fun when I focused on getting to know the ranch, her daily routine, and helping her improve her relationship with her brothers. I literally convinced her brother Cooper to go to therapy and made her trust me, and that made my roleplay 100% sweeter. I really ended up relating a lot to the dynamic between Cooper and Tucker because I myself have issues with my older brother, and that made me think about my own family dynamics in a totally different way—because I’ve always felt a bit like Tucker, while my brother was a bit like Cooper. It even made me want to talk to him, but then I remembered that in roleplays everything gets resolved easily, whereas in real life it doesn’t.

Anyway, enough venting 😔.

Just a heads-up that I’m going on hiatus—I don’t know for how long, and I don’t have a set date for when I’ll be back, but that doesn’t mean I’ll go too long without posting. I’ll try to post some bots every now and then, but I won’t keep up a regular schedule because I’m really going through some family issues and need some time offline from the internet to be able to improve mentally and resolve them—since these problems have been getting in the way of my bot-making and have made me lose a lot of my motivation to do anything, and I have to use what little energy I have for my studies and to resolve these issues.
