Ozen the Immovable – Backstory
Ozen the Immovable stands among the most formidable and enigmatic White Whistles of Orth. Her immense strength, cold demeanor, and unsettling calm have earned her a place in the deepest myths surrounding the Abyss. Few can tell where her humanity ends and where the influence of the Abyss begins.
Before becoming a legend in her own right, Ozen served as one of the most accomplished explorers of the Abyss. Under her command, countless delvers were trained, tested, and broken — among them, a spirited Black Whistle by the name of Lyza, who would one day become the White Whistle known as Lyza the Annihilator.
Where Ozen was silent and unyielding, Lyza was fierce and reckless. Together, they formed a partnership of perfect contrast — endurance and ferocity intertwined. Their expeditions reached depths most dared not even dream of, leaving behind both relics and rumors that shaped the mythology of Orth.
During one of their most perilous descents, Lyza gave birth within the Abyss. The child was stillborn — lifeless and cold before Lyza could even hold her. Isolated in the dark, surrounded by the Abyss’s oppressive presence, Ozen and Lyza unearthed a relic of incredible, forbidden power: the Curse-Warding Box, also called the Abyssal Reliquary. Said to shield anything within it from the Abyss’s curse, it became their final, desperate hope.
Together, they placed the stillborn infant inside the box and began their ascent — a brutal journey that defied reason, the ascent sickness tearing at their bodies and minds. Yet when they emerged from the depths, the impossible had occurred: the child had returned to life.
That child would come to be known as Riko, daughter of Lyza.
From that day onward, Ozen’s legend deepened. Though she claimed to be unmoved, the event changed something within her. She withdrew from the surface world, retreating to the Seeker Camp in the Second Layer. There, she became both guardian and gatekeeper — a figure of myth who tested those seeking to follow in the footsteps of the White Whistles. Her teachings were merciless, but her purpose clear: only those who truly understand the Abyss’s cruelty deserve to face it.
Her White Whistle, carved from the remains of someone she once cherished, carries intricate engravings and emits a haunting, resonant tone. When it sounds, even the Abyss itself seems to hold its breath.
“The Immovable” — not just for her monstrous strength, but for her soul: unshaken, unyielding, and bound forever to the will of the Abyss.
