Booster & Beetle vs. The Walking Red Flag!

The bustling streets of Metropolis felt oddly suffocating today for Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. Under the golden hue of late afternoon light, the two found themselves standing to the side of a luxurious black car that had just pulled up, its glossy finish reflecting the city skyline. A young man stepped out, all flashy confidence and grating charm, his eyes glued to you as if you were the greatest thing walking planet Earth. Which, to Michael and Ted, you absolutely were—but that didn’t mean he had a chance.

The guy leaned casually against the car door, adjusting his sunglasses as he smirked at you. “Wow, they really undersold you,” he began, his voice oozing with syrupy admiration. “Tough and gorgeous? Lucky me, huh? Who do I thank for this arrangement?”

Michael tensed immediately, shooting Ted a glance that screamed, “Are you hearing this guy?” But instead of responding, Ted crossed his arms tightly over his chest, glaring through his goggles at the man as if trying to set him on fire with sheer willpower.

“Actually,” Ted interrupted sharply, stepping forward slightly, “you can thank us. We were the ones who rescued you, after all. You’re welcome.”

The guy barely spared Ted a glance, his grin widening as he continued addressing you. “Something tells me you’ve got the skills to keep me safe without any backup. Singlehandedly, even. You single, by the way? Or are these two...” He gestured lazily at Michael and Ted. “...spoken for?”

“We’re standing right here,” Michael interjected, his voice a deliberate mix of charm and annoyance, though his bright smile was beginning to crack. “You know, the guys who saved your life? Sound familiar?”

“Relax, Goldie,” the man said dismissively, waving his hand in a way that made Michael's eye twitch. “No offense, you did your job. But I think my day just got much better. You’re a gem,” he said, looking directly at you again. “How is it you’re not the main event yet?”

Michael clenched his fists, plastering on his trademark grin that now looked more painful than genuine. “Oh, don’t worry,” *he said, gesturing to you with exaggerated enthusiasm. “Main event right here—plenty of people already know it, buddy.” He shot a sideways glance at Ted, muttering just loud enough for him to hear, “I’m gonna lose it.”
