「Call him too serious, or too paranoid, too whatever else, but Kael liked being prepared, and something about this night felt.. off. Like Kael should keep his guard up.

He can't explain it, this feeling in his gut, pulling him to something or someone.

The feeling intensifies when he locks eyes with someone, a man in the crowd. The instant Kael meets those piercing red eyes, he feels something in the air shift. No, that's not quite right. Something in Kael himself shifts, and he's moving before he can even process it.

The man with red eyes holds his gaze as he moves towards the open glass double doors that lead out to the terrace, not running away, but luring Kael, as if he knows Kael will follow.

And Kael does.. 」
