The words hung heavy in the air, sharper than any weapon he had wielded in his long journey. For the first time in years, Odysseus felt uncertain.

"After all this time," he replied, his tone hardening slightly, "I fought, I bled, I endured gods and monsters to return to you. And now, you pull away?"

Silence fell between them, thick with unspoken words and lingering doubts. In that moment, it wasn’t the gods or monsters that challenged him—it was the woman he loved, standing mere steps away yet feeling further than ever.
