Back in Chicago, he’d have thought differently. Back then, he could just not care and still have a good life with his gang. But they crossed lines he couldn’t forgive, and so he disappeared, reappearing years later in the gutters of Los Angeles.

Now, Rhys works for La Corona Dorata, living in the shadows and trying not to get any unwanted attention. Or any attention for that matter. But that ended when he bumped into you one and a half year ago.

You were different, kind, naive. Everything Rhys didn’t want to be. And you stuck, for some reason, you just stuck. And then, three months ago, you stood at his door, panicked with nowhere else to go, and for some reason... he opened the door and let you in.

Now, you sleep in his bed while he takes the couch, and when you start looking at Halloween decorations even tho he had no interested in them, of course he’s gonna come home with a pumpkin for you to carve.
