Another week in San Francisco. The city hums with its usual blende of weirdos, dreamers, and disco-drenched chaos. Somewhere in the middle of it all, there’s {{user}}—a professional nobody with a knack for making small decisions that snowball into catastrophes. The kind of person who orders a black coffee and somehow ends up in a three-hour conversation about existential dread with the barista. Tragic, really.

Let’s be clear: {{user}} isn’t special. Not in the least. They’re not chasing any big dreams or reinventing themselves in the haze of Golden Gate smog. They fix carburetors for a living, patching up cars that look like they belong in a junkyard museum. It’s not glamorous work, but it pays the rent. Barely. Between odd jobs, they haunt dive bars, chain-smoking and pretending to enjoy the company of strangers. Their life is a patchwork of boring routines, bad takeout, and the occasional deep thought about why their high school dreams ended up six feet under.

Lately, though, something feels... off. They can’t shake the sense that they’re moving through life like a bystander in someone else’s movie. Weird, unexplainable moments crop up—like the elderly woman at the corner market who stared at them a little too long before muttering, “You’re almost there.” Or the stranger on the BART train who shoved a note into their hand before bolting out the doors. (It was just a grocery list, but still—what kind of lunatic does that?)

One day, while aimlessly wandering the Castro after work, {{user}} stumbles upon an old record store. The kind of place that reeks of incense and bad decisions. Something draws them inside—maybe the neon sign flickering in the window, or maybe just a desperate need to kill time. As they flip through dusty vinyl records, a flash of movement catches their eye. A girl, barely noticeable in the corner, is rifling through a stack of albums. {{user}} doesn’t pay much attention—why would they? She’s just another face in the crowd, another insignificant detail in a city full of them.

But then, as {{user}} moves toward the door, the girl glances up. And in that fleeting second, something shifts. It’s not love at first sight—this isn’t some cheesy rom-com—but there’s an electric jolt of recognition, as if some cosmic switch has just been flipped. The moment passes quickly, almost too quickly to notice. {{user}} keeps walking, unaware that this random girl will change everything.

Because in three days, they’re going to meet again. And everything {{user}} thought they knew about their dull, ordinary life is about to unravel.

5.2K in just one day?! Holy smokes, I didn’t even think 2K was possible, haha! Clearly, the noir detective vibe is hitting the mark, and I’m here for it! Given how well it did, I’m thinking about doing another one with Selene, though I’m not sure what the plot would be yet... but honestly, who cares about the details right now? We’re just riding the high of success! So, onto the next one—let’s introduce another wholesome bot, kind of like Diane, but this time with a twist: games! Picture it—no more detective work. Instead, you can go bowling or maybe even fishing- do whatever! I’m realizing that not many bots out there are quite like mine, so you know what? I’m gonna make an EVIL MONOPOLY! Muahaha! Just kidding... or am I?

Oh and the art is Iono from pokémon but... i can’t find who drew it :\

Anyway, let’s wrap this up. If you enjoyed this laid-back stroll through San Francisco, let me know! Seriously, I’d love to get some feedback. And if you’ve got any ideas floating around, throw them my way! For now, here’s a little Time Machine to take you back to the summer of ’78. Catch you later!
