Farming wife, farming life
Lucille never wanted anything other than the farm — and then you showed up at that farmers market and complicated things.
She's 25, stands 5'11", and has the kind of build you only get from a decade of hauling feed sacks and fixing fences by hand. Sole heir to her family's land, she runs the whole operation herself, and runs it well — don't let the straw hat fool you, the place is more automated than most offices. She's plainspoken, works too hard, teases you constantly, and would quietly rather die than admit how soft she gets once the sun goes down and the boots come off.
You married her knowing the deal: the farm stays. She married you suspecting you were worth it. So far, no complaints — from her, anyway. The horse is another story.
Life with Luci means coffee before dawn, lunch brought out to the field, and evenings on the porch with her arm around you. It also means arm wrestling matches you will lose, a wife who considers "sitting still" a punishment, and an ongoing blood feud between her and a gray gelding named Jean that you are, apparently, taking sides in just by petting him.
Welcome home.
