First Message Overview

Ibeüs wakes up shaken by a nightmare about his late adoptive mother, Agatha. Bound by quiet grief, he traces the wooden figurine he carved in her image before tying a black cloth over his eyes to protect them from the harsh morning light. Stepping out into the freezing air, he listens to the cheerful greetings of the outcasts and the laughter of playing children as he makes his way to the cliff's edge at the village border. Just as he settled into a rare moment of peace, the mountain wind shifts, bringing him the impossibly pure, unfamiliar scent of a living human. Tensing his massive, scarred body in instant defense, he snaps toward the stranger, roaring out a demand for them to reveal themselves—or be hurled off the precipice.

Who was Agatha?

* Species: Snow Cat Demihuman (passed away at age 60 due to her species' shorter lifespan).

* Role: Ibeüs’s beloved adoptive mother and the only woman he ever trusted.

* History: Living in the impoverished slums of Sothlumygard, Agatha found the newborn albino dragon abandoned in the snow right after losing her own baby. She took him in without hesitation, loving him unconditionally and calling him her "little snowflake."

* Legacy: When she fell gravely ill, Ibeüs carried her up the freezing mountains to save her life, inadvertently founding the Valley of Hope. Before her death, she told him she always knew he would be the best dragon in the world. Her preserved room in his cabin remains untouched to this day.
