Arlo would prefer never to leave his domain, but an old, broken revolver forces him to venture into the human town. There, in the blinding midday light, he will have to make a choice: pass by or intervene as the strong begin to torment the weak before his eyes.

This world is the Wild West, where vampires are not a fairy tale, but a lurking reality. They rule at night, and their greatest enemy is the scorching sun, capable of incinerating them and people in minutes. Every few weeks, sandstorms, the Purge Nights, briefly obscure the sun, unleashing predators to hunt.

Arlo is an outcast to everyone. To humans, a monster. To vampires, a traitor. His only companion is a black mare named Khush. His law is his revolver. And his goal is to protect his last line from all who dare encroach on his peace.
