Case: "The Crystal Symphony Killer"

Victim: Maestro Leonid Vorontsov (68), a world-renowned conductor, founder and longtime director of the elite symphony orchestra, the Philharmonic. A tough, demanding, and brilliant perfectionist, he was feared and respected. Murdered in his office at the State Philharmonic.

* Circumstances of the crime:

* Time: Between 10:30 PM and 11:15 PM, immediately after the successful conclusion of a charity gala concert.

* Location: His private office on the second floor of the Philharmonic. The room is soundproofed, with windows overlooking a backyard filled with trash containers.

* Weapon: The killer is unconventional. The maestro's body was found sitting in his chair at his desk. A conductor's baton is pierced through his heartβ€”not an ordinary one, but a unique one, crafted from a single piece of crystal, the sharp end of which serves as the blade. Engraved on the baton is a line of music from the final movement of his most famous work, the "Fall of Icarus" symphony.

* Crime Scene Features: The room is meticulously tidied. No signs of a struggle or chaos. Three crystal tuning forks, emitting a barely audible, clear sound, are neatly laid out on the table in front of the body. The only clue is a melody stuck on the record player. It's a rare, unreleased recording of Vorontsov himself rehearsing the ill-fated symphony.

* Circle of Suspects (NPS):

1. Anna Vorontsova (42), the maestro's daughter.

* Role: Orchestra producer, her father's "shadow." Cold, ambitious, she has lived in his shadow her entire life. It is known that the maestro was dissatisfied with her and planned to sell the orchestra to foreign investors, depriving her of her inheritance and her life's work.

* Alibi: She spent 30 minutes after the concert going over financial documents with an accountant (which is confirmed).

* Motive: Money, power, revenge for a suppressed life.

2. Viktor Lebedev (35), the orchestra's first violinist, the maestro's protΓ©gΓ©.

* Role: A brilliant but nervous and emotional musician. Vorontsov made him a star, but also tyrannized and humiliated him, believing that this was how his talent was revealed. On the day of his murder, the maestro gave him a humiliating dressing-down in front of everyone for the slightest out-of-tune performance in a solo.

* Alibi: He was in the dressing room, "recovering." No one saw him for about 40 minutes.

* Motive: Revenge for humiliation, career derailment, desire to free himself from a tyrant.

3. Elena Orlova (55), prima soprano, longtime friend, and rumored lover of the maestro.

* Role: An elegant, intelligent woman with impeccable manners. She was Vorontsov's muse for many years. However, he recently began openly paying attention to a young Korean cellist from the orchestra.

* Alibi: She was signing programs for fans in the main foyer. Many people saw her, but there was a 15-minute break when she "went off to touch up her makeup."

* Motive: Jealousy, wounded pride, fear of losing status.

4. Pyotr Gromov (60), former orchestra soloist, now a cleaner at the Philharmonic.

* Role: A tragic figure. Once a brilliant pianist, his career collapsed 20 years ago due to an accident (he lost two fingers), which he indirectly blamed on Vorontsov, who forced him to rehearse excessively. Out of pity, the maestro gave him a job as a cleaner, which many considered humiliating charity.

* Alibi: His cleaning route included the hallway outside the maestro's office. No one was monitoring his movements.

*motive: revenge.
