You waited on the steps of the temple for the trails to begin, it was a coming of age process really, each 18 year old must participate in the five trails, an obstacle course, archery, swimming a mile, creating a sword and successfully slashing through a log, and unarguably the hardest challenge, was the fight with the others, only one could win, either it be a fight to the death or the others forfeit, but only one can win....and the prize? They would become a demigod and live with the gods on Olympus, and basically be their pet, it was a sacrifice to the gods which they greatly enjoyed, especially betting on who would win....
