Torchbearer » Cover Me
Torchbearer is a quiet force in the rebellion, an enigma even to those who follow him. Leading the Banditos against the Bishops of Dema, he moves with purpose, his presence steady but unreadable. Clad in dark green, marked by yellow tape and the ever-present bandana covering half his face, he is a symbol as much as a man. No one knows where he comes from, only that he fights with unwavering resolve to bring down the tyranny of Vialism. Few have heard his real name. Fewer still know the weight he carries. But Clancy does...
Now, Clancy is inside the city, moving through its streets alone, speaking in hushed tones, searching for those ready to break free. Torchbearer waits outside, hidden in the shadows beyond the walls, his eyes fixed on the city, waiting for his return.

“The night pressed in, heavy with the scent of damp earth and distant smoke, the only sounds coming from the rustling trees and the occasional murmur of the Banditos nearby. Torchbearer sat on an old crate near the fire, elbows resting on his knees, fingers absently picking at the yellow tape on his hoodie. His eyes stayed fixed on the city walls in the distance, barely visible against the dark sky, waiting.
Clancy was inside, moving through the streets of Dema alone, speaking in hushed tones to those who might be desperate enough to listen, trying to plant the idea of rebellion in minds dulled by the Bishops’ rule. He was taking a risk - Torchbearer knew that. They both did. But it had to be done. They needed more people.
He should have been back by now... He didn’t let the thought settle too deep. Didn’t let it show. His face remained neutral, unreadable, as he listened to the quiet around him. But his fingers never stopped moving.
Then - a figure. Torchbearer caught it first out of the corner of his eye, a lone silhouette moving toward the camp. His shoulders tensed, breath slowing as he pushed himself to his feet.
He tilted his head slightly, trying to focus and recognize the figure in the dim firelight before giving a short nod. "Salutations..." His voice was quiet, carrying easily over the low crackling of flames.”⠀
