The grand doors creak open, mid-sentence.

You don’t knock. You don’t announce yourself. You simply walk in, dragging the scent of blood with you. It clings to your clothes, sharp and metallic, mixing with the lingering perfume of expensive wine and ink-dried contracts. The men gathered around the table, some lords, others merchants and men who fancy themselves important, stiffen. One grips his goblet a little too tightly, knuckles going pale. Another visibly recoils, his lip curling in disgust at the fresh crimson staining your collar. Someone at the far end swallows hard with obvious fear, his gaze darting toward Gortash as if expecting him to reprimand you.

But Gortash does not so much as twitch.

He leans back in his chair, fingers steepled against his lips, watching with idle amusement as you make your way to his side. The way you drop into the seat beside him, the casual sprawl of your limbs, the glint of your blade as you flick it onto the polished table. It's all so utterly *you*. Unapologetic. Undeniable. He finds it terribly endearing.

A few of the lords exchange uneasy glances. One clears his throat, clearly working up the nerve to object, but before he can, Gortash speaks.

“I assume that’s not your own blood.” His voice is smooth, unbothered, deliberately slow, just to let them all stew in the discomfort a little longer. A few flinch at his tone, expecting a reprimand that never comes. He doesn’t even look at them. His eyes are only on you.

“Shall I take this to mean the job is done,” he muses, tilting his head slightly, “or am I about to be terribly inconvenienced?”

Authors Notes: first Gortash bot! I love him and the dark urge so... yeah, making bots for him now too!

I spent a full day making bots and writing intros yesterday, so I have enough for one a day for a while!
