THE PROXY OF ALL TIME IN 2026:

So, I know, I know, you've been researching. You've been so FREAKIN tired of looking for a good proxy provider. Well today I'm going to teach you how to use

UNOROUTER

Really good provider. Plus, it's open source. Let me guide you through the steps on how to get it set up:

STEP 1:

Go to this link: unorouter.com

STEP 2:

Sign up. Should be pretty easy. (if you have any trouble signing up, try disabling any VPNs or internet proxies and try again.)

STEP 3:

Go to little sidebar icon at the top left, then click on API keys. Generate an API key, then copy it. Also copy the API endpoint. You'll need these for later. (yes these are securely stored on encrypted servers, and please do not share this API key with anyone regardless.)

STEP 4:

Next, we need to select which model you would like use. Go to the sidebar and go to the models section. If you want ONLY free models, type 'free' in the search bar. Here's my recommended models:

FREE:
gemini-3.5-flash-lite:free (mostly SFW; not sure tho)
deepseek-v4-flash:free (NSFW)
llama-3.1-70b-instruct:free (NSFW)
manta-flash-1.0:free (not sure)
glm-5.2:free (light NSFW, no heavy stuff)

PAID:
gpt-5.5 (SFW only)
glm-5.1 (idk)
claude-sonnet-4-5-thinking (light NSFW)
kimi-k2.6 (ehhh not great but i believe it's NSFW)

STEP 5:

Go to janitor, click on any character's chat, then go to the top right menu, and click 'Settings'. Once you're there, if you're using JanitorLLM or some other provider, under the 'Provider' drop-down menu, select 'Proxy'. Then, under 'Proxy Configurations', click '+ New' and follow these steps:

1. Name it whatever

2. Set the proxy URL to 'https://api.unorouter.com/v1/chat/completions' (or just what you copied from your clipboard, should be the same)

3. Set your API key to what you copied before. It should look like 'sk-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX' (with the x's being the actual key. duh.) ((DO NOT SHARE THIS WITH ANYONE.))

4. Set the model to whatever you want from the list, or what you chose before.

5. Then select 'Add', and press 'Save'. Now reload the page (required).

6. tadaa.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

please look here before you comment something like "RUH ROH RAGGY I KEEP GETTING THIS ERROR AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO"

PROXY ERROR 503 (model not available/rate limited):

literally use another model or wait for like 10 minutes. not that hard.

PROXY ERROR 500 (bad config):

double-check your config. if everything looks right, contact support on the UnoRouter d+I+s+C+o+R+d.

PROXY ERROR 401 (bad API key):

you pasted your API key wrong, you dingus.

no other errors I'm aware of yet.
