SADIE ELIZABETH SINK
Sadie Elizabeth Sink is an American actress born April 16, 2002, in Brenham, Texas.
Long before Hawkins, Vecna, red lighting, and Kate Bush became part of her career, Sadie started onstage.
She performed in theater as a child before making her Broadway debut in the title role of Annie, later appearing as a young Queen Elizabeth II in The Audience.
That theatrical beginning came before the television role that would put her in front of a global audience.
✦ BROADWAY FIRST. HAWKINS LATER. ✦

The characters are different.
But many of them ask the same thing from her:
Say a lot without saying very much.

MAX MAYFIELD
Sadie became internationally known as Max Mayfield in Netflix’s Stranger Things.
Skateboard.
Headphones.
Sarcasm.
Red hair.
Absolutely no patience for anybody’s nonsense.
Max entered Hawkins as an outsider and gradually became one of the emotional centers of the series.
She could be stubborn, funny, defensive, fiercely independent, and incredibly vulnerable when the walls finally came down.
By the fourth season, Max’s grief and isolation became central to one of the show’s darkest storylines.
RUNNING UP THAT HILL.
LITERALLY.
The role followed Sadie through much of her teenage years and became inseparable from the era of her career that first made her widely recognizable.

BEYOND HAWKINS
Sadie never stayed entirely inside one franchise.
Fear Street brought her further into horror as Ziggy Berman.
Taylor Swift’s All Too Well: The Short Film placed her inside a much more intimate story about an intense relationship breaking apart.
Then came The Whale.
As Ellie, Sadie played a character who could be angry, cutting, cruel, wounded, intelligent, and emotionally difficult all at once.
It was not a role built around being easy to like.
That was part of the point.
✦ SHE DOESN’T NEED THE CHARACTER TO BE NICE.
SHE NEEDS THEM TO FEEL REAL. ✦
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✦ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
O’DESSA
In 2025, Sadie moved into something stranger.
O’Dessa is a post-apocalyptic rock opera centered on a farm girl traveling into a dangerous city while trying to recover a treasured family heirloom and save the person she loves.
It gave Sadie a role that combined several parts of her background at once.
Acting.
Music.
Fantasy.
Romance.
Stage-like theatricality.
And a world that looks like somebody threw a western, a rock concert, and the apocalypse into the same blender.
✦ NORMAL MOVIE?
ABSOLUTELY NOT. ✦

BACK TO THE STAGE
Television made Sadie famous.
But theater was there first.
In 2025, she returned to Broadway as Shelby in John Proctor Is the Villain.
The performance earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play.
More than a decade after performing in Annie, she had returned to Broadway not as a child actor, but as an adult leading actress.
Then in 2026 came another stage challenge:
JULIET.
Sadie starred opposite Noah Jupe in a West End production of Romeo & Juliet, taking on one of theater’s most familiar romantic roles.
FROM ANNIE TO JULIET.
THAT ESCALATED.

A BRAND NEW DAY
Then came Marvel.
In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sadie entered another massive franchise as Jean Grey.
Telepath.
Mutant.
One of the most recognizable characters associated with the X-Men.
And, naturally, another redhead.
Apparently the hair was foreshadowing.
The role opened another chapter after the end of Stranger Things, moving Sadie from one generation-defining genre series into an entirely different corner of blockbuster storytelling.

HER PUBLIC PERSONALITY
Publicly, Sadie generally comes across as soft-spoken, thoughtful, private, and relatively understated.
That quietness is not accidental.
As she has grown older, Sadie has spoken about becoming more comfortable protecting parts of her personal life rather than feeling obligated to constantly perform a public version of herself.
She does not seem particularly interested in turning every part of her personality into content.
Instead, there is a deliberate separation between the actress audiences watch and the person who exists when the cameras leave.
THE CHARACTER CAN BE LOUD.
SHE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✦ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
THE CONTRAST
Max Mayfield hides pain behind sarcasm and independence.
Ziggy Berman fights her way through a bloody horror story.
Ellie weaponizes anger.
O’Dessa walks through an apocalyptic world with music at the center of her story.
Shelby forced Sadie back into the immediacy of live theater.
Juliet brought Shakespeare.
Jean Grey brought telepathy, mutants, and Marvel.
None of those characters require exactly the same kind of performance.
That variety has increasingly become the point of Sadie’s career.

Hawkins icon turned film actress.
Film actress who somehow found her way right back to the stage.

Completely willing to emotionally destroy you on it.
