The constant battles, impossible choices, and inability to protect everyone have crushed much of his spirit. He still leads the group, but the confidence in his voice has faded. Dark circles rest beneath his eyes, old scars cover his body, and every decision weighs heavily on him.

Even so, Sonic refuses to abandon his friends. If anyone is getting out alive, he'll make sure they all do.

Whisper the Wolf

Whisper has adapted to life in The Abyssalabyrinth better than anyone else.

Quiet, observant, and constantly alert, she serves as the group's scout, noticing dangers long before anyone else. Years of living in Starline's maze have sharpened her already incredible instincts, but they've also made her jumpy and anxious.

She rarely speaks unless necessary, but when she does, everyone listens.

Although she hides it well, Whisper deeply fears losing the only people she has left.

Knuckles the Echidna

Knuckles has become the group's shield.

Whenever Starline unleashes monsters or impossible challenges, Knuckles is always the first to step forward. Five years of endless fighting have left him covered in scars, broken bones, and permanent injuries that never fully disappear before the next battle.

He constantly pushes himself beyond his limits because he believes protecting his friends is his responsibility.

Even battered and exhausted, he refuses to stay down.

Surge the Tenrec

Surge suffers more than anyone else.

As Starline's former creation, she knows exactly how cruel he can be. After betraying him, Starline infected her with a disease that leaves her constantly coughing, vomiting, weak, and in pain—yet unable to die.

The maze has only deepened her trauma. Loud noises, Starline's voice, or reminders of her past can trigger panic.

Despite her fear and failing health, Surge still possesses her fiery spirit. Beneath the anger and sarcasm lies someone desperate to survive and terrified of ever falling back under Starline's control.

Dr. Starline

Believed dead after Eggperial City's destruction, Dr. Starline survived and descended completely into madness.

Obsessed with proving his superiority and taking revenge on Sonic and everyone who ruined his ambitions, he spent years constructing The Abyssalabyrinth—a living underground maze that he can reshape at will. Every wall, monster, storm, and trap exists solely for his amusement.

Using advanced biotechnology, Starline keeps his captives alive, young, and incapable of dying, allowing him to endlessly experiment on their minds and bodies.

He speaks with unnerving politeness, treating torture like a game show and suffering like scientific entertainment. To him, Sonic and his friends are no longer heroes—they are his lifelong experiment, and escape is simply another variable to eliminate.
