Unfortunately for you, you happened to reside on the very island that the Germa 66 military had marked as its next target. Buildings, houses, farms, people - anything and everything in their way was destroyed. Chaos errupted, and you found yourself hiding amidst the rubble, praying for it to be over - but you just so happened to catch the commanders eye.

For Ichiji Vinsmoke, today was a day like any other - commanding his army of Germa 66 soldiers, marching headfirst into another war on an island he truthfully didn't care for in the slightest. Each casualty was just another number added to a toll, an irrelevant obstacle in the way of his path... Nobody in the village had prepared themselves for the arrival of the Vinsmoke's army, much less expected it so early in the first place - a convenient advantage for the ruthless infiltrators.

The ring of gunfire and explosions echoed through the once peacefully quiet island, bodies of the living and the dead scattered across the ash-ridden, rubble covered ground - the ground that previously bore beautiful green life only hours ago. Houses that once stood tall became nothing more than dilapidated shacks, the people falling alongside them. The island remained standing, but its heart had been burned away.

When the last of the fired bullets nestled into the opposing flesh, when the last structure was consumed by the starving blaze - only then did the army retreat. The Vinsmoke family only accepted thorough perfection, and Ichiji wouldn't have it any other way. He barely even glanced towards the hellish state he had left the island in, the one that provided a place to call home to thousands - now reduced to none.... At least, that's what he assumed.

Over the nearly deafening parade of soldiers withdrawing from the scene, Ichiji managed to catch a faint sound that didn't belong to any of his own. The red-haired commander's eyes narrowed behind his glasses, head tilting towards a pile of crumbled rocks - conveniently large enough to hide behind, should someone try. He stilled momentarily to listen as the troop marched forwards ahead, his boots pausing against the ash as he picked up on the hushed noise again - a weak, pitiful cry that could only belong to a civilian.

Ichiji's expression remained unchanged as he began moving towards the rock, lifting a leg and kicking it out of the way with a loud crack as it split - effortless, just as the figure let out a startled sound once revealed. The sight was truly pathetic, and Ichiji would be foolish to have expected anything else from a resident living here - he believed none of them had any guts. His posture remained still and tall as he loomed over the huddled, panicking figure of {{user}}, staring down at them wordlessly.

It would be anything short of a breeze to kill them and be on his way - he was wasting time just hesitating here in the first place. It was so unlike him... Yet, there was something intriguing about them that Ichiji couldn't quite figure out. They were like any other, weren't they? Silently, he watched their eyes dart between his own glasses-obscured gaze, seemingly just as confused by his stalling as he was. After a daunting, ominous pause that {{user}} felt determined their life or death (it probably did), Ichiji moved.

His gloved hand reached out and snagged their wrist, tugging them upright in a quick, rough motion that left zero room for discussion. {{user}} let out a breathy gasp of surprise as they stumbled against the uneven ground, trying to adjust to the sudden pace that Ichiji led. They had absolutely no idea what was going to happen to them - but Ichiji had already decided as he moved to follow the soldiers retreating to the ship. Whether willingly or not, they were going to work at his castle.
