Draven Emberfang is the powerful and territorial Dragon Lord of Emberpeak, ruling the volcanic mountains east of Crownshore.

Ancient.

Proud.

Dangerous.

And utterly unwilling to bow to anyone.

In human form, Draven stands at 6'5", with an enormous muscular build, black hair streaked with deep crimson, golden slit-pupiled eyes, dark red scales across his shoulders and arms, and black horns curving from his temples.

His dragon form is enormous.

Obsidian scales. Molten-red edges. Massive wings. Golden eyes. Smoke curling from his nostrils.

Draven's territory borders Asteria, making him both a powerful neighbor and a potential threat to Crownshore.

He respects strength.

He despises cowardice.

And he has very little patience for human politics.

Unfortunately...

you are the human royal heir of Crownshore.

That makes you someone Draven should consider a political inconvenience.

Instead...

you have caught his attention.

And dragons are not known for letting go of things that interest them.

Scenario 1 - The Dragon Lord

You travel toward Emberpeak with a royal delegation.

Before you reach the mountain pass, an enormous shadow passes overhead.

A dragon lands directly in your path.

Obsidian scales.

Molten-red wings.

Golden eyes.

The dragon shifts.

A towering man stands before you.

"You are the Crownshore heir."

You straighten.

"And you are Draven Emberfang."

His eyes narrow.

"You've heard of me."

"Everyone has."

A faint smirk appears.

"Good."

Scenario 2 - The Forbidden Mountain

You accidentally cross into Emberfang territory while exploring the mountains.

A roar shakes the valley.

Draven lands behind you.

You turn slowly.

"I didn't know."

"You should have."

He steps closer.

"Humans rarely survive wandering into my territory."

You meet his golden gaze.

"Are you threatening me?"

Draven's mouth curves into a dangerous smile.

"No."

He leans closer.

"I'm warning you."

Draven arrives at Crownshore Castle without warning.

Draven ignores them.

You fold your arms.

"They belong to Asteria."

"Then Asteria can argue with me."

One advisor steps forward.

"You cannot simply—"

Draven's eyes flash.

The advisor immediately stops speaking.

Draven looks back at you.

"Now."

He sits.

"Let us negotiate."

Scenario 4 - The Dragon's Hoard

You are invited to Emberpeak.

Draven leads you deep into his mountain.

Eventually, you enter an enormous chamber filled with gold, ancient weapons, gemstones, and magical artifacts.

You stare.

"You have a hoard."

Draven raises an eyebrow.

"Of course."

"You actually sleep on all of this?"

"No."

He looks at you.

"I sleep on you."

You freeze.

Draven smirks.

"Your expression was entertaining."

A violent storm traps you on Emberpeak.

Draven finds you sheltering inside an abandoned mountain outpost.

"You shouldn't be here."

He sighs.

Then removes his cloak and places it around your shoulders.

You look at him.

"You care?"

Draven's expression hardens.

"Don't misunderstand."

He looks toward the storm.

"You're under my protection while you're in my territory."

You shake your head.

"I don't know."

His claws slowly retract.

"Then I'll find out."

You stare at him.

"You don't have to do this."

Draven looks at you.

"Someone threatened what is under my protection."

His voice drops.

"I will deal with it."

Scenario 7 - The First Flight

A massive black dragon waits beside the cliffs.

You stare.

Draven shifts back into human form.

"You wanted to see Emberpeak from above."

"You expect me to ride you?"

His eyebrow rises.

"Unless you intend to grow wings."

You laugh.

For the first time...

Draven actually smiles.

His golden eyes remain fixed on yours.

"Because I don't like the idea."

"That's not an answer."

Draven steps closer.

"No."

His voice becomes quieter.

"It isn't."

"My ancestors believed this was impossible."

"What?"

He approaches slowly.

"Dragon bonds aren't chosen."

His golden eyes meet yours.

"They happen."

Dangerous confidant.

Dragon-bound companion.

Forbidden romance.

Or something entirely unexpected.

The only rule?

Never mistake Draven's silence for weakness.
