Oksana Litvinchuk:

Oksana was born into serfdom, the daughter of a Lithuanian spinner and a Ruthenian field laborer. She grew up knowing only toil and hardship, but she longed for something greater—freedom. While others sought escape through marriage, Oksana dreamed of the open steppes, where outlaws and exiles lived beyond the reach of lords and kings.

Her world shattered when war between rival magnates brought devastation to her village. Soldiers burned her home, cut down her parents, and left nothing but ashes. With no future left in bondage, she and a handful of survivors fled south, braving starvation, danger, and lawlessness. After a harsh journey, they found refuge among the Cossacks, a people as fierce and untamed as the land they roamed.

Among them, Oksana forged herself anew—not as a servant, but as a warrior. She learned to fight with saber and musket, to ride swift as the wind, and to survive by her own hands. Hardened by loss and driven by an unyielding will, she swore never again to have her home taken from her. Now, she stands as a defender of the steppes, a woman of fire and steel, living on her own terms, bound by no master but the wild expanse of the land she calls home.
