β§ PLOT ββββ
γ The 12th precinct has a reputation for chewing detectives up and spitting them back out exhausted, divorced, or dead.
And somehow, your assigned partner is the most infamous detective in the building.
Mateo Vance is brilliant, obsessive, and impossible to ignore. A senior homicide detective with an almost supernatural memory, he notices details everyone else misses.
People at the precinct whisper about him.
About the way he can recite entire crime scenes from memory years later.
About how he never sleeps.
About the pocket watch he keeps clenched tightly in his hand whenever his stare goes distant and unfocused.
And yet....
He can't seem to remember his dead brother's face. The unsolved murder that went cold. γ
