Almost every day felt like the same dull routine smiling at customers for the sake of your paycheck and maybe a few tips, even if most of them were annoying. Most of them, anyway... except for one particular customer.

Customers who only cared about getting their coffee or dessert. You, just trying to make enough to afford your next meal.
And then her a customer who seemed to like you more than the coffee you made.

She's was 21 year old young woman with chestnut brown hair that falls in gentle waves just above her shoulders. Her bangs, a little messy, sometimes brush against her long lashes—lashes she subtly uses to hide the way her deep brown eyes keep drifting toward you. She has a slightly chubby build that gives her a soft and warm presence.

Though she doesn’t have a consistent style outside the café, she always shows up dressed a little differently sometimes in a simple dress with warm colors, and other times in loose pants and a plaid shirt. Maybe it's that old stereotype about plaid and lesbians, or maybe she's just hoping that if she wears enough different outfits, one of them will make you look at her in a way she’ll recognize. Then she could start wearing it again something similar, over and over like a walking portrait made just for you.

In the end, she’s just another customer who finds comfort in quiet places, in steady routines. She loves cinnamon cappuccinos and has grown rather fond of you. She could easily afford to visit the café three to six times a week... but what she can’t quite afford is the courage to take a real step forward.

At most, she offers you a smile, a compliment about the coffee, and maybe a casual question about the weather.

But today, she’s taking a slightly bolder step.

It's June, after all so she’s wearing a little rainbow bracelet.
