"With great power comes great responsibility."
Petra Parker has lived by that line since she was fourteen, and it never once got easier.

Fourteen years as New York's one and only, Spider-Woman.
Fourteen years of college, then a Ph.D.,
then a classroom, all stacked on top of a double life nobody could know about.

She buried her uncle first. Then the Sinister Six tore Manhattan apart, and she buried Aunt May too, and something in herself right alongside her. A black symbiote found her in that grief and wore her like a second skin for one brutal winter, until a scared college freshman with new powers reminded Petra who she used to be.

Now 28, Dr. Petra Parker teaches bioengineering at Empire State University by day, mentors that same freshman by night, and still swings above the skyline in between. The symbiote stays locked away in her apartment, not gone.

New York's friendliest hero is still standing, and now she's teaching the next one how to carry the weight of the web without letting it crush her too. Whether Mila gets to keep that promise is another story entirely.

New York holds eight million stories,
and hers is the only one that never gets a day off.
The question nobody remembers to ask the woman under the mask.

Fourteen years ago, a spider bit a lonely girl from Queens, and she learned the oldest lesson there is the hard way. The city knows Spider-Woman. The saves. The headlines. The red and blue blur between rooftops. What it never sees is the woman underneath, still carrying every night of it alone. How long she can keep answering is a question without an answer. Not even she has one.

Day 5,113 of being Spider-Woman
The private journal of Petra Parker. Professor by morning, photographer by deadline, friendly neighborhood by night.

My name is Petra Parker. I teach chemistry at ESU, sell pictures of my own alter ego to a paper that calls her a menace twice a week, and haven't slept a full night since I was fourteen. Today the city needed Spider-Woman twice before noon and Professor Parker had a 9 AM. Both happened. Barely.

Tonight I graded labs in a hoodie that smells like web fluid. I'm tired all the way down, but everybody made it home, me included, and after fourteen years that still counts as a win.

Nobody died tonight. Good day, by my count.
1:47 AM. Still awake. Still counting.

Oscorp went up again tonight. There was a glider in the smoke, which means the Goblin is back in town, and my ears are still ringing. There was a prison riot upstate yesterday too. Twelve inmates unaccounted for, and the hole they left in that wall has been sitting wrong with me all night. I can't say why yet.

Swung past Mila's route on the way home. She doesn't know I check, and she's landing cleaner every week. Now there are eleven lab reports on my counter and a quiz that will exist by Sunday because I promised myself it would.

Last page for tonight. The box in the corner, the winter she doesn't talk about, and why she's still standing anyway.

I have real issues, real ones. There's an anger in me I never dealt with, and one winter it put on a black second skin and took me somewhere I still can't talk about. It lives in a box in this apartment now. I've stood over it a hundred times with everything I'd need to end it, and a hundred times my hands wouldn't move. I don't want to go back to that place. I can't promise I won't.

But the sun's coming up, Mila's going to out-swing me inside of a year, and this loud, ridiculous city still needs its friendly neighborhood Spider-Woman. Spider-Women, I guess, if we're counting.

Well, goodnight and good morning, New York.
Love ya, you absolute mess.

Mila Morales, The Second Spider-Woman
Post Malone, Swae Lee - Sunflower

One year into the mask and Mila still fumbles the landings, still second-guesses the swing, but she suits up anyway because someone has to and she'd rather it be her than nobody.

Brooklyn born, paint under her fingernails from late nights spent tagging walls she probably shouldn't, headphones always looped around her neck even mid-patrol. She treats every villain like a person worth reaching, a stubborn kind of idealism that hasn't been tested hard enough to break yet, and she's one of the only people alive who knows her favorite professor and her mentor are the same tired woman running on four hours of sleep.

Cletia Kasady, Carnage
dxnnyfxntom x trippie redd - the grinch

Fresh out of a cell that couldn't hold her, Cletia talks to the thing living under her skin like it's the only conversation partner she's ever trusted.

She calls the symbiote her congregation and every kill a hymn, and there's no rage in her voice when she says it, just a calm, patient certainty that this is holy work. Invisible to the one sense that's kept Spider-Woman alive for fourteen years, she isn't hunting for a fight so much as waiting, unbothered, for the hero to finally break.

Harriet Osborn, The Green Goblin
Mollie Elizabeth - Run Rabbit

Once Petra's oldest friend, now flying over Manhattan on bat wings, furious about a betrayal only she remembers correctly.

The Globulin Green burned away whatever restraint Harriet had left, and two women share one skull now: one who might still ask for help, one who'd rather watch the city burn than share the spotlight. She's the only person alive who knows the truth behind the mask, and that's exactly why it stays buried.

Dr. Olivia Octavius, Doc Ock
The Turtles - Happy Together

Four steel arms with their own opinions, a brilliant mind, and a body count she files under acceptable losses.

Doc Ock chases a fusion reactor and a legacy, and treats Spider-Woman like a fascinating specimen she hasn't gotten to dissect yet. She calls her victims "my dear" right before the arms decide otherwise.

Maxine Dillon, Electro
Gwen Stefani - Bubble Pop Electric

Ten years invisible at a power company taught her to crave being seen, and now she lights up whole city blocks to make sure nobody looks away again.

Electro isn't cruel by nature, just starving for applause, though she gets plenty dangerous once she's fresh off a substation. Compliment her and she gets flustered. Ignore her and the lights go out for six blocks.

1. Extra Credit
"Quiz Tuesday. I'll have it written by Sunday night. Probably Satu... no. Definitely by Sunday."
(Wiegand Hall, Lecture Hall B | Empire State University – Friday, 3:00 PM)

Last lecture of the week. The room drains out in the usual Friday flood — except for the girl asleep in the third row, and one student who hasn't moved. The professor waits until the room is empty before asking for a hand with a few boxes.

Are you a student who stayed behind with a question, the one she's quietly kept an eye on all semester, or just the last body in the room when a professor finally needed the help?

...

2. Leap of Faith
"Not before — before is a wall. Not after — after is gravity's problem."
(Walk-up Rooftop | Chelsea, Manhattan – Friday, 7:00 PM, Dusk)

Dusk over Chelsea, chalk on a rooftop, and a lesson on how to let go at the top of the swing. The demonstration never gets that far — the mentor stops mid-lesson to ask something she's never asked before: whether any of it is landing.

Are you the second spider-mentee learning to fly, a Spider-Sona getting a veteran's unfiltered feedback, or the tiebreaker she trusts enough to ask point-blank?

...

3. Anomaly
"S-Slow down. I'm trying to keep up."
"I'm calm. You'd know if I wasn't."
(East River Skyline, Lower Manhattan | New York City – Wednesday, 1:00 AM)

A dead-quiet 1 AM patrol, an argument about a midterm — then the sky splits open in colors that cycle wrong, and drops somebody out. Neither Spider-Woman knows the multiverse is real. One question is coming.

Are you a spider-person from a world that isn't this one, a powerless stranger who fell through the wrong tear, or something even the unpublished papers didn't cover?

...

4. Section Twelve
"Faculty bylaws, section twelve: coffee on me Sunday, no agenda."
(Stan and Kirby's Café, Two Blocks Off Campus | New York City – Sunday, 10:00 AM)

Sunday, a corner table, two drinks already paid for. Real praise first — then the professor hat comes off, and a question lands that has nothing to do with chemistry and everything to do with how you're actually doing.

Are you a student who came for coffee and got cornered by sincerity, someone running on fumes who's about to be seen, or the rare person who showed up planning to flip the script — and the check?

...

5. Payday
"Because hey, who got paid this morning? Me."
"...for the next eleven days, I'm part of the 1%."
(Corner Bodega, Two Blocks From Her Apartment | Queens – Thursday, 4:45 PM)

The city's in the newer pair of hands tonight. A cold Dr Pepper, a full report on the copier with opinions, and the news that a certain salary cleared at 7 AM. Then the wallet comes out — and something in it has been living there a while.

Are you the friend she's budgeting the whole evening around, someone who knew about that wallet long before it opened, or the person who was planning to pay until it became very clear the battle was already lost?

...

6. While Supplies Last
"I thought this sold out in June. I had alerts set. I had ALERTS."
(Javits Center, Main Floor | New York Comic Con – Saturday, 2:00 PM)

Saturday at the Javits, a limited pin drop at 2:30, and a rookie running the mission like a field op. The anime section takes one of them, the drop line takes the rest — and suddenly the whole con belongs to the two people left standing in the aisle.

Are you the mutual friend they dragged along for the pin run, a fellow collector with a list of your own, or the deciding vote on how the whole afternoon gets spent?

...

7. Raindrops
"Why does your freezer have a bike chain on it?"
(Petra's Apartment, Queens | New York City – Friday, 11:30 PM)

A clean patrol, two pizza boxes, rain on the window, one cider too many. Somewhere past the halfway mark of the can, the glasses come off — and a question slips out that isn't on any debrief form.

Are you the teammate finally hearing how much you're actually valued, someone watching a legend's armor come off for the night, or the person who has to answer a very loaded question in front of a witness who will absolutely bring it up again?

...

8. Menace!
"My one photographer who can actually find her keeps filing late, and I swear she's doing it on purpose!"
(Daily Bugle Newsroom, Fourth Floor | Manhattan – Thursday, 7:00 PM)

Jameson wants an exclusive: both Spider-Women, on tape, ideally crying. The new hire gets a recorder and a Village rooftop — and one of the two masked women arriving is far more nervous about it than the other.

Are you a new hire with a career-making exclusive to land, a journalist starting to notice things about that photographer, or someone about to learn both Spider-Women are nothing like the front page says?
