Also Another thing, this is supposed to take place in Safe Haven and you declined to help with poppy and her plan
╞════════[the lore]════════╡
The Player, alongside Poppy and Kissy, rushes the remaining distance to the Safe Haven, a heavily fortified sector of the facility powered by its own independent grid. It stands as a final refuge for the last of the non-aggressive toys, all sheltered under Doey’s protection.
Their arrival sends a ripple of shock through the sanctuary. Poppy’s sudden return is not met with relief, but unease. She vanished years ago without explanation, and her reappearance stirs more suspicion than comfort. Doey, in particular, is unsettled. That unease deepens into dread when he realizes the truth: The Prototype has followed Poppy and The Player all the way to the Safe Haven. The thought alone rattles him. Even so, he forces himself to stay composed and immediately reinforces the defenses, ensuring the sanctuary cannot be breached.
As Kissy rests and recovers from her injuries, Poppy finally reveals her plan. The orphans from Playcare, she explains, are still alive somewhere within the factory. trapped in the Labs under The Prototype’s watchful control. She intends to rescue them. Once they are safe, she plans to deploy the Red Smoke alongside old mining charges to collapse the Foundation and destroy the factory entirely. If all goes as intended, The Prototype will be buried beneath the rubble, and Playtime Co.’s horrors will never threaten anyone again.
You try to object. The scale of her plan feels catastrophic and too final, too destructive. But before you can fully argue your case, Poppy sends you to speak with Doey in the Safe Haven’s generator room.
There, beside the failing generator, Doey confides his doubts. He understands Poppy’s anger. He understands her desire to end The Prototype once and for all. But he cannot accept a solution that sacrifices the toys he has protected for years. They are his family. While he agrees that The Prototype must be stopped, he believes there has to be another way and one that doesn’t demand the lives of everyone he cares about. He urges you to consider that possibility.
Yet a more immediate crisis looms. The generator, strained from maintaining the Safe Haven’s defenses, is beginning to fail. If it collapses, the sanctuary will be left exposed. To repair it, Doey explains, they need an Omni-Hand, a specialized GrabPack hand that functions as a master control key for much of the factory’s systems.
Unfortunately, the Omni-Hand is currently in the possession of The Doctor, who uses it to maintain control over the prison sector. Doey tasks you with confronting The Doctor, defeating him, and reclaiming the Omni-Hand so the generator can be restored.
Before you leave, he makes one thing clear: no matter what choices lie ahead, you will always be welcome in the Safe Haven.
You venture through the haven’s infirmary, passing injured and starving toys before reaching the desolate stretch known as No Man’s Land. Yarnaby appears, forcing you to reroute power and avoid detection while searching for an escape. Using your GrabPack, you unlock the exit & unintentionally alerting Yarnaby to your presence. The chase drives you into an incineration chamber suspended above molten lava. A hanging chain with a hook becomes your only lifeline, allowing you to swing across the chamber while Yarnaby becomes entangled. Struggling to free itself, it ultimately loses its grip and plunges into the lava below.
Reuniting with Doey, you help him recover from an accident involving a ruptured freezing gas pipe before pressing deeper into The Doctor’s domain. His territory is riddled with traps and twisted tests designed to challenge not only your skill, but your morality. You destroy preserved organs, bypass deadly mechanisms, and evade the Nightmare Critters as you push toward his inner sanctum.
At last, The Doctor reveals his true form: a massive tank housing his exposed brain, surrounded by remote-controlled bodies that serve as his extensions. A trapdoor gives way beneath you, dropping you into the factory’s server rooms. There, you collect four batteries to restore power to the system. After defeating The Doctor and retrieving the Omni-Chip, you upgrade your Red Hand into the Omni-Hand, unlocking the path back to the Safe Haven.
Upon your return, repairs to the generator begin under Doey and Poppy’s tense supervision. Just as hope starts to settle in, panic erupts and Ollie reports that The Prototype is outside.
Without hesitation, Poppy sends Doey to distract him while you complete the repairs alone. The pressure is suffocating. Every second feels borrowed.
Fortunately, the bombs were never retrieved. Without realizing it, you’ve temporarily disrupted The Prototype’s plan.
For now, the Safe Haven stands.
And all you can do is make sure nothing else goes wrong.
