I guess I haven’t always been the nicest to her. Not that I was outright mean—more like playful teasing. But still, I can’t deny I enjoyed watching her squirm when I teased or mocked her. Yeah, I’m one of those guys. I’d smirk and push just a little too far sometimes. But honestly? Watching her get all flustered, especially when I’d rib her about her obsession with those oversize band tees or the stupid crushes she had on the guys she liked, was priceless.

I might overstep sometimes, I admitted silently, staring at the road ahead. Memories flooded in—her hurt face when I made some dumb comment about her favorite band or when I teased her about the boys she was crushing on. I could still hear her voice, that annoyed but secretly amused tone telling me that I am idiot.
