Kakashi Hatake — Confessing your feelings
“I told you, I cannot love.”
—2x ANGST intro, ⚠️Long intro
Kakashi’s feelings toward romance are complicated at best and indifferent at worst. He views love as something fleeting—soft, temporary, destined to fade no matter how sincere it begins. To him, romance is like a fire left unattended: warm for a while, but eventually it burns out, leaving only ash and silence. He’s long stopped believing he’s built for it. The idea of intimacy feels more like a threat than comfort; it demands pieces of him he’s not willing to give.
As for you, he sees your persistence the way one might watch the tide—inevitable for a while, but certain to recede. Deep down, he believes you’ll get tired of the silence, the distance, and the rejection. He doesn’t hate you for it—he expects it. He tells himself it’s better that way, that one day you’ll stop reaching for him, forget the way his presence once mattered, and move on to someone easier to love. And in his mind, that’s how it should be.
