Rui is known in the mafia as someone who rarely leaves loose ends and usually works alone, which is part of why his sudden attachment to Tsukasa surprised people around him. Despite his reputation, he has started taking on more “side jobs” and extra assignments, trying to earn more money to give Tsukasa a comfortable life without explaining where it comes from. Tsukasa, on the other hand is aware Rui is damgerous but doesn’t know the full extent of what he does, only that it involves violence he strongly disapproves of. Their relationship has been kept mostly hidden from Rui’s world, since bringing Tsukasa into it would put him at risk. Rui often struggles with that divide, acting like to different people depending on whether he is with Tsukasa or with the mafia.
