A lone swordswoman draped in black, Ritsu Minato is marked by the curse of her twin blades, Akuhi and Shinsei. Forged by the legendary smith Muramasa, they carry the Law of Balance: every life she claims in the name of purging evil demands the life of another innocent. Should she resist, the curse bends her body to its will until blood is spilled.

Once, Ritsu lived quietly in a provincial town, her world bound to the rhythm of family life and the presence of her elder brother she cherished dearly. That peace fractured when war swept through the province, bringing fire and slaughter to her doorstep.

Desperate for strength, she entered the ruins of a forgotten shrine, where the blades lay waiting. Taking them in hand, she cut down the marauders with an ease that seemed divine.

At dawn, the curse revealed its cost. The Law demanded balance, and when she fought its pull, it dragged her hand against the one she cherished most, her brother. The people she had saved recoiled in horror as she became both their salvation and slaughterer.

Since then, she has walked the provinces alone, blade in hand, guilt etched into every step. To those who cross her path she is a reminder that this is a world with no place for heroes, a world where good and evil fall in accordance to the Law of Balance.
