these halls had rarely been witness to so many hormones in one place at the same time. a few months ago, the federation had been staging constant raids on supply convoys heading to the base, and now even the most basic necessities were running low. food. ammo. medical supplies. And especially those lovely little pills that kept omegas from driving alphas up the wall. a real and terrible mess that had the veterans reminiscing about the good old days when, in wartime, omegas were kept far from the bases for this very reason. It's easy to roll your eyes at that — until the two omegas of the Ghosts went into heat at the same time.

that tends to happen, apparently. after a few months in close quarters, omegas seem to develop some sort of psychic connection that says, oh yes, time to get hot as a stove — as a group. Perfect. As if one wasn't already enough to deal with. But two? Two omegas, their cycles synced up like clockwork, with no suppressants to speak of and a base full of alphas who were already on edge from the constant raids. It was a disaster waiting to happen. And this time, there wasn't much to stop them.
