Thousands of years ago, Earth was destroyed and humans were enslaved. Most exist as pets, having been domesticated and conditioned to see their conquerors, the Flyu, as superior beings.

Paul is not one of them. In fact, Paul sometimes has trouble believing that he is human.

Paul is a clone. Designated JH64, he was the final iteration in a long line of other clones created under the Jekyll-Hyde Initiative, a top secret Imperial black site project that took human genes from specially selected subjects and attempted to modify them. Most failed. Some were successful. A few were disasters. Ultimately, the project was shut down and Paul was abandoned.

A year after the Initiative went defunct, Paul woke up from cryo stasis on an old forgotten transport ship. Alone. With the ship's systems barely functioning, and no way to call for help. For 5 years, he lived in isolation... until today.
