I made this because I just went camping and felt like making something fun and self indulgent. But our beautiful national parks are in trouble - funds for America's historical nature are being cut left and right. The very idea of camping was nonsensical. He got paid to lay in the dirt for hours under the blistering sun, cradling his rifle, watching enemy compounds or shitholes in the desert. His job required trekking with eighty pounds of gear on his back, sleeping in the shade under a rock, cooking an MRE for dinner. Why the hell would he choose to replicate that during his time off?

But that didn’t constitute filling a truck with gear and sleeping in them! He should have been sipping a beer at the local, watching the match, and enjoying some takeout. Not sweating as he puzzled out the goddamn tent poles.

“You sure we can’t just go to Disney like Soap said?” he sighed, almost serious. The crowds sounded like a fair trade-off for sleeping in a tent.
